Fairs in Ireland

Transport to Irish fairs by direct ferry with no customs, or over the UK land bridge under transit documents. Irish-side formalities through our own agency.

How do we carry to fairs in Ireland?

To Ireland we carry two ways: by direct ferry from the continent, with no customs at all, or over the UK land bridge under transit documents. Ireland is in the EU, so duty and an ATA carnet are not needed. The exception is Northern Ireland, which is part of the UK. We deliver to the venue, for example the RDS in Dublin, in the build-up window.

A note on Northern Ireland: it is part of the United Kingdom, so different requirements apply than in the Republic of Ireland. Tell us in your enquiry and we factor the formalities into the quote. We run Ireland-UK lanes both ways, with the Irish-side handling through our agency in Ireland.

Exhibition stand logistics in Ireland: Dublin, Kildare and getting to the island

Ireland is a trade fair market with its own logistical character, because it sits across the sea yet inside the EU customs union. We handle stand construction and exhibits for the island's key venues: the RDS in Dublin, Citywest near Dublin and Punchestown in County Kildare. EU goods travel to Ireland without customs clearance, exactly as in any movement inside the Union. There are two routes to choose from. The landbridge runs through the United Kingdom, which is outside the EU, so transit formalities arise when entering and leaving the British island. The alternative is a direct RoRo ferry, for example from the continent, which avoids British soil and simplifies the paperwork. Keep in mind that Northern Ireland is a separate area and part of the United Kingdom, so we treat it on its own terms.

For your stand we deliver the construction and exhibits with a booked unloading slot, so the truck reaches the venue in line with its rules and your build schedule. We install the stand on time, store the empty packaging for the duration of the show, and after dismantling we collect everything and arrange the return leg. We also carry the build crews, so people and equipment arrive together. We match the route, landbridge or direct ferry, to the deadline, the budget and the type of cargo, and we manage the transit formalities wherever the road passes through the United Kingdom. Write to us through the form, give us the venue and your build and dismantling dates, and we will prepare a delivery plan to the island.

Fair transport, step by step

  1. 01

    Enquiry and dates

We gather the fair date, the venue, the build-up windows and the unloading slot, plus the list of goods and required documents.

  2. 02

    Plan around venue rules

We plan the transport around the hall rules: booking-in, entry slots and the build-up window, so nothing waits at the gate.

  3. 03

    Collection and transport

We collect the stand and goods and carry them to the venue, with a warehouse buffer if needed.

  4. 04

    Delivery to slot and build

We deliver exactly in the build-up window and support the crew in line with the venue rules.

  5. 05

    Return after the fair

After the event we collect the stand and goods, and arrange the return or storage until the next event.

How far ahead to plan it

For Ireland allow 3-5 weeks: you must choose the route (direct ferry or the UK land bridge with transit) and sync the crossing with the build-up window.
