Budma, the International Construction and Architecture Fair, takes place at the Poznań International Fair grounds, right in the city centre. That defines the logistics: unloading windows in dense urban surroundings, limited manoeuvring space and precise booking (a slot agreed in advance). Exhibitors bring heavy, awkward things: joinery, roofing, facade systems, boards and construction machinery. We move that freight from pallet to flatbed, with bookings, consolidation and post-fair pick-up.
Why Budma is harder than an ordinary delivery
Budma is not a warehouse on the edge of town with a loading dock and open access. It is a site in central Poznań where the organiser's schedule sets the order, not the order of arrival. A truck that turns up outside its window does not unload on the spot: it waits or it leaves. In construction the stakes are high, because exhibits are heavy and expensive and the stand is often built by a crew with counted assembly hours. Every hour a truck is stuck in a queue is an hour lost from putting the stand together.
A city-centre venue
- Access and manoeuvres: central Poznań does not forgive trucks arriving outside their window. A tractor and trailer need room, and dense surroundings leave little of it, so we plan the route and hour around the actual entrance.
- Unloading: some materials need a forklift or a crane arm. That is announced in advance, because handling equipment on the grounds may be limited and charged under venue rules that we confirm when the job is booked.
- Weight and dimensions: facade profiles, boards and machinery are freight that does not fit a standard parcel. We match the trailer to the load, and where it exceeds the gauge we discuss oversized transport.
- Pick-up after the fair: hundreds of stands dismantle at once, which means queues. We skip them with a firm pick-up schedule agreed before the event ends.
Heavy, awkward construction exhibits
The construction trade brings items to a fair that are hard to move by hand: complete facade systems, gates, large-format window and door joinery, sandwich panels, steel structure elements, and working machines demonstrated live. Such loads must be secured properly, protected from surface damage and unloaded in the right order, so the crew on the stand gets first what is assembled earliest. Where an exhibit exceeds standard dimensions or weight we plan it separately; the detail is in our piece on out-of-gauge and special loads.
How do we serve Budma?
- Transport of stand builds, materials and exhibits from all over Poland and Europe, pallet to flatbed, matched to weight and size.
- Bookings by the organiser rules and guarded assembly windows; exact slots and entry procedures we check in the venue regulations and confirm when the job is booked.
- Consolidating subcontractor deliveries into one truck, so the stand does not wait for three transports or open three unloading windows.
- Backup during the fair: storing spare material and packaging off site, delivering batches only when they are needed.
- After the event: storing the stand for the next fair or return transport to the exhibitor.
We run warehousing in Kielce and Legnica, and for the British lane in Milton Keynes, so a stand build and its spare stock need not travel back across the country between one fair and the next.
Backup and working with the build crew
At Budma the point is to sync transport with the crew that raises the stand. When the truck arrives in the right window and materials are stacked in assembly order, the crew does not lose hours waiting and hunting for pallets. How we bring the build crews and their tools is covered in trade fair stand logistics from A to Z. That ties exhibits, stand build and people into one plan instead of three separate ones.
Before you book transport to Budma
Prepare a list of exhibits with weights and dimensions, flag the items that need a forklift or crane arm, and mark which materials are needed first. Give the planned assembly and dismantling window. The rest, from choosing the trailer to bookings and pick-up, is on us. The contact form is the fastest way to start; from it we match the transport and confirm the entry rules for the given year.
The domestic backdrop is covered in trade fair transport in Poland, the full list in the European guide.
Step by step
- Schedule planning. Establish stand assembly dates and details of all construction materials.
- Slot reservation. Book a precise unloading window with the venue operator before dispatch.

Definitions
- Budma: International Construction and Architecture Fair held at the exhibition grounds in Poznań.
- Poznań International Fair (MTP): The main exhibition and trade centre located in central Poznań.
- Slot booking (Awizacja): Securing a specific delivery time slot with the event organiser in advance.
- Consolidation: Combining multiple smaller shipments into a single truckload for delivery.
- Unloading window: Allocated timeframe during which a vehicle is permitted to enter and unload.
When does this rule not apply?
Strict time slot booking does not apply to small parcels delivered on foot or light equipment carried by hand, unless the organiser enforces a complete vehicle restriction across the site.
