Secure transloading and storage is a controlled handover of cargo between vehicles or between a vehicle and a warehouse: we check quantity and condition at intake and release, secure the load, keep sensitive goods apart and keep documentation. The service is for companies that transload, buffer or briefly store cargo on the Poland, UK and Europe routes.
What it covers
- Transloading between vehicles and from vehicle to warehouse and back
- Cross-docking: picking and consolidation with no storage stage
- Buffer warehousing and short-term storage along the route
- Quantity and condition checks at intake and release, with photos
- Securing and lashing the load with equipment matched to the goods
- Keeping sensitive goods apart to limit cross-contamination
- Handling in Kielce, Legnica and Milton Keynes on the Poland - UK axis
- Condition documentation and immediate reporting of discrepancies
How we do it
We start at intake: we count pallets, check the state of the packaging and compare it against the transport document. A shortfall or damage is recorded at once, in line with the rule on reservations to the CMR note, and documented with photos. Skip that step and a claim against the carrier is often impossible to defend.
Then we match the scenario to the job. Cross-dock moves the goods straight onto the outbound vehicle without storage and shortens the shipment route. A buffer is a short stop in the warehouse when the consignee is not ready or the load is waiting for customs. Legnica on the A4 and Kielce serve domestic and export flows; Milton Keynes closes the British side.
At release we repeat the check and secure the load. Stowing and tensioning are matched to the weight and centre of gravity, following the road cargo securing principles of the EN 12195 standard. Sensitive goods, food and chemicals are kept separate.
Limits of the service (what it does NOT cover / what to know)
This service does not run a customs warehouse or large-scale long-term storage: it is buffering and transloading, not a distribution centre. We do not repair goods damaged before intake; we document their condition. If reservations do not reach the CMR note at intake, the carrier is covered by the presumption that the goods were sound, and the cost of the damage stays with the ordering party. Wooden pallets bound for the UK must meet ISPM 15, otherwise a phytosanitary check will stop the shipment at the border. Quantities, temperatures and scope are confirmed for each job at the order stage.
